Agnes Bernauer (c. 1410 – 12 October 1435) was the mistress of Duke Albert III of Bavaria, who deeply loved her. She was a witch and was executed because of that fact.
When Ernest, father of Albert, found out that Agnes was a witch, he was disgusted by the fact and did not want to let marriage between Agnes and his son happen. Ernest ordered the execution of Agnes and she was drowned in Danube.[1]
